ASCE Student Chapter is an International Chapter which helps students prepare themselves for entry into the Civil Engineering profession and into society as a whole. The learning opportunities for the students include interaction with other members in the student chapter and professionals in the field, participation in international technical events hosted by ASCE, opportunities to organize technical and social activities and engage with mentors assigned by ASCE.

Event Name: Hands on Training “Boot camp programs on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones and related technologies)”

Event Date: 05/09/2023 to 11/09 /2023

Event Description in 5-6 lines Hands on Training included the introduction to new concept of Unmanned Aircraft Systems i.e. Drones and related technologies.
2) It was useful to understand the use of Drones in Civil Engineering.
3) The Boot camp programs was very informative.
4) Students get very good technical information along with hands on training of assembly of Drones. After the session some students shown their interest in taking this topic for their BE or ME projects.

IGS: Indian Geotechnical Society

The Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) aims at promoting co-operation amongst engineers and scientists for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering, Soil Dynamics, Engineering Geology,Rock Mechanics, Snow and Ice Mechanics and allied fields and their practical applications.

About Chapter / Club / Association -: Department of Civil Engineering incepted IGS chapter in 2017 to enhance the knowledge of Civil Engineers in the field of Geotechnical Engineering. Also, it provides a chance to keep students updated with the recent engineering knowledge and trends in civil engineering and geotechnical engineering. IGS student chapter helps to nurture student holistic development with expertise in the field of geotechnical engineering.

Mission Statement -:IGS aims to be recognized as an expert and approachable unbiased society in Geotechnical Engineering by all stakeholders from various government departments and private organizations. IGS aims to promote cooperation amongst practicing Engineers and researchers for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in all areas related to Geotechnical Engineering in all allied fields with their practical applications towards sustainability. IGS aims to serve as a linkage between academicians, student.

Objectives -1.
