Rangabhumi

Rangabhumi is an amalgamation of the artistic elements comprising acting, dance, music, sketching, painting, and various related skills.
Rangabhumi - Humans among Robots, Artists among Engineers.
Nowadays, in the living world, Our Planet Earth is none other than Machinery or a Factory and we all serve as Robots or Machines for a result named "Good and Stable Life". We all are in this race of Life Daily but there is a place where there are Humans among these Robots. Don't believe me?
"Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering" in Pune has his Artcircle named "Rangabhumi". On the top floor of the C-Building of this College, there is this place that tends to be separated from this Robotic-Human World. Rangabhumi mainly focuses on developing Skills and Talents rather than just working blindly in one direction. Rangabhumi comprises many Departments. There are 8 departments in Rangabhumi. This department helps the artists over here to nurture their Talent and grow some other skills based on their curiosity. Rangabhumi does all this by participating in Inter- College, State, and National Level Drama Competitions.

The Main motive of Rangabhumi is to provide a sense of Confidence and the individual personality which makes this artist different from the current world of Robotic Humans. In last three years Rangabhumi had participated in many different competitions from various domains and performed extremely well in pendemic situations. Even though there was lockdown Rangabhumi never stopped. In online mode also Rangabhumi explored new ways of arts. Some popular Plays of Rangabhumi are

Aalni

Aalni was the play performed in Purushottam 2018-19 by Rangabhumi.

Pink In The Rainbow

Pink In The Rainbow is one of the most popular plays performed by Rangabhumi. It was performed in many different competitions like Firodiya Karandak, Atal Karandak, Raj Karandak and got prizes as well. This play secured 3rd rank in Atal Karandak and 3rd rank in Raj Karandak with Best Acting award. In Firodiya Karandak Rangabhumi got 1st prize for Piano and 2nd prize for UV play

Nirpekshan

Nirpekshan was performed in Symbiosis Karandak, by Rangabhumi in 2019. Rangabhumi secured a position in Top 9 finalists for the play with Best Female Actor Award.

Checkmate

Checkmate was performed in The Articulate Therapians & Symbiosis Karandak by Rangabhumi in 2019. This play got People's Choice Award in The Articulate Therapians. Further this Natyavachan was professionally performed at The Box Pune.

I Object

I Object! was performed in Symbiosis Karandak and Kalakshiti by Rangabhumi in 2021. This Natyavachan got first prize in Kalakshiti competition.

The Maze

The Maze is a play performed by Rangabhumi in Purushottam Karandak 2022. Further this play is also performed in MaNaPa Karandak. This is one of the popular plays of Rangabhumi. This play had a housefull professional show at Balgandharv Natyamandir.

Zehat

Zehat is the play Rangabhumi performed in Firodiya Karandak 2022.

Street Play (BAI)

Along with these plays Rangabhumi has many individual and group prizes in other competitions. Rangabhumi got second prize for street play in BAI. In University youth fest Rangabhumi has prizes for skit, elocution, music, debate and piano. Also Rangabhumi had 3rd prize for mime act in Pais Karandak. Rangabhumi had secured 3rd rank in COEP Impressions for Artiskit. Also there are three individual prizes in COEP Impressions for doodling.

Report 2019-20 HIPHOPPERS

HipHoppers are the college’s Dance Gladiators, HIPHOPPERS was formed by our seniors twelve years ago, a platform for those who considered dance as a serious form of art and intend to make a difference through dancing. They not only dance but give message to the people by their performance. In past few years they have performed on crucial topics like ‘Save girl child’ ,’Martyr’, ’Human Trafficking & Molestation’, ‘Beggars’,’Drug Addiction’ as a small contribution for awareness in society .Hiphoppers perform in various intercollegiate dance competitions and they have made a name for themselves in these competitions. Albeit often known for their humble nature and best levels of sportsmanship, when the hiphoppersget down to business, the whole town knows. And so does the fire department. The dance crew of our college has been participating in various intercollegiate events and has achieved glorioussuccess in these competitions. Apart from group dance competitions Hiphoppers have also participated in solo’s as well as duet dance and achieved the following awards:

This yearwe have participated in total 25 competitions out of which we came 1stin 23 competitions and 2nd in 2 competitions .
This year we have participated in all the symbiosis colleges events in pune ,and in most of the competitions we became 1st.

The biggest achievement of this is year is to get 1st prize in sinhagadkarandak and rajgadkarandakwhich is a very prestigious competition to win.

Every year we organise a free dance workshop for our college students, this year also we have conducted a free dance workshop which was taken by seniors of our dance group who are pass out from our college only. We have conducted two days free dance workshop in month of September 2018. Total students attended on day 1 are 60 and on day 2 are 55.

It gives me immense pleasure to present information about Sports & Gymkhana Facility available in the Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering. Since inception institute provides good attention towards sports facility. Our Founder-Secretary strongly thinks that for every person physical and mental fitness is important for the success in life. Gymkhana is well equipped with good indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Institute regularly encourages to organize college level and intercollege level games to exhibit students sports activities. RSCOE have good sport ground but also college hire various stadiums and sports grounds as and when require to conduct these events. Since inception institute produce number of National Level, State Level and University Level players in these games. Annual of Budget of Gymkhana department is more than 2.5 lacs. So first of all I thank this college for giving me an opportunity to be the Physical Director. I assure you that it is my responsibility to identify and channelize the talent of students in the field of sports. Also I will make sure that the students will get maximum exposure at the highest levels with the best of facilities. It is very essential for us to know that it is very important for a technical college like ours to have a maximum participation in sports because overall development of students plays a great role in molding their future I am also sincerely grateful to our principal Dr R.K. Jain for his valuable cooperation, inspiration & timely support to us in our work. .I also thank all HODs, management, teaching and non - teaching staff for their encouragement and support to us. Finally as the Physical director I congratulate all players who brought laurel to our college by good performances in inter collegiate sports events and zonal sports events. Finally I cannot forget to thank all my well wishers for their inspiration, encouragement amoral support.
